ASPS and PSF Launch Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day Vine Contest
The second annual Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, BRA Day for short, is coming this October 16th. BRA Day was started in order to raise awareness to the 70% of women who are not informed of their breast reconstruction options following a breast cancer surgery. In order to kick off the event this year, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) have launched a social media contest inspired by the creativity of last year’s BRA Day participants.
The Double Loop Ribbon Social Media Contest is centered around BRA Day’s unique double loop ribbon. Participants are asked to come up with a creative way of using the BRA Day double ribbon and recording the display on Vine, a social media app in which users can record and share short six second looping videos. The winner will receive $5,000 toward the planning of their own BRA Day event in 2014.
Close the Loop!
In order to enter the contest, you are first required to sign a BRA Day affiliate agreement. Once you record your double loop Vine video, post it to twitter using the hashtag #closetheloop by November 1st. The winner will be chosen by Breast reconstruction patients by December 20th.
